The LITEM research unit (EA 7363) is rooted in management sciences and economics. It is shared by the University of Evry Paris-Saclay and Institut Mines-Télécom Business School (IMT-BS), and is part of the “Law, Economics, Management” doctoral school (ED DEM, n°630) of Paris-Saclay University.

Research carried out in LITEM aims to better understand the dynamics of innovation, the functioning of markets and organisations, and their financing. Many projects focus on the digital sector as such (ICT, open source, platforms, AI, big data, green IT, …) or on its applications to other sectors (health, agriculture, industry, e-government, etc.). In addition to technological innovation, social innovation is also investigated, including in the digital sector and with a view to contribute to sustainable development goals. Methods used are both quantitative and qualitative, and mobilise fields of knowledge pertaining to economics and management sciences.

LITEM members work with companies (industrial chairs, CIFRE PhD funding, etc.) and other socio-economic players (administrations, Genopole, Social and solidarity organisations, …). These collaborations can take the form of research projects financed by these actors or by national (ANR, ADEME, etc.) and international (European Commission, World Bank, …) funding agencies, or seminars open to all. Research results are published in both English and French in peer-reviewed journals, as well as in popularised forms through various media.

Support for these activities takes the form, for example, of monthly publication workshops, during which researchers present an article in progress. Doctoral students also benefit from a monthly workshop, during which they present their work and receive feedback from peers and senior researchers.

Research at LITEM spreads over two research axes:

LITEM doctoral students benefit from the doctoral training programme of Paris-Saclay University, which issues their doctoral degree.

In January 2019, LITEM was very positively evaluated by the HCERES, for a period of 5 years.
